Beginner’s Series

*NOTE No two instructors are alike, so most of these classes offers completely different styles and choreography. Please try out all instructors to find one that is right for you.



Basic Beginner’s Burlesque - This is the perfect class to get a taste of what burlesque can do for your inner and outer self while learning choreography to boot! Learn the basic standing and walking movements to start your journey into burlesque. Walking, bump, grind, shimmy, and arm movements will all be introduced in this class. Wear comfortable low heels or flexible dance shoes.  (Each class will have a 4-6 week schedule before choreography is changed, and a new session is started - but you can drop in at any time)

 

 

Intermediate Beginner’s Burlesque - Take your burlesque moves into the next level by incorporating props such as gloves, boas, scarves, and bra removal. Wear whatever makes you comfortable that you can move in. Also, comfortable low heels or flexible dance shoes. (Each class will have a 4-6 week schedule before choreography is changed, and a new session is started - but you can drop in at any time)

 

Advanced Beginner’s Burlesque - This class will focus on learning a fully choreographed group number that gives each performer the opportunity to show individual style and technique. Wear whatever makes you comfortable, plus a bra to be worn on the outside of clothing. Also, comfortable low heels or flexible dance shoes. (Each class will have a 4-6 week schedule before choreography is changed, and a new session is started - but you can drop in at any time)

 

Slow & Steamy Bedroom Burlesque - 45 minutes of slow, sensual movement and floorwork with the added kick of old fashioned bump and grind will be sure to light the fire within you! (Each class will have a 4-6 week schedule before choreography is changed, and a new session is started - but you can drop in at any time)

 

Classic & Glamorous Burlesque for BeginnersThis beginner class will help you to learn the grace and elegance of the early Burlesque style from the 1930s and 40s. This class begins with a simple, graceful warm-up, and then into the sultry but elegant moves of a Burlesque Queen. You will learn to move with grace and style. This class will also help you be a little more graceful in your everyday life. (Each class will have a 4-6 week schedule before choreography is changed, and a new session is started - but you can drop in at any time)

 

 

Intro to Hoop DanceHoop dance is hot! Not yo mama’s hula hoop! Rebecca DeShon’s 6 week hoop dance class series is packed with fun, sexy dance moves that will get your heart pumping and help you fall in LOVE with yourself. Hooping is a fun aerobic activity that strengthens the whole body blending a mind-body connection while building balance, coordination, flexibility and strength. NO previous experience required, all skill levels welcome. Hoop dance is a low-impact, cardio activity that burns up to 240 calories in just 30 minutes, all while having FUN. Moves covered: smear, halo, waist hooping, corkscrews and many more with unlimited variations and transitions for each.Limited # of hoops available to borrow for the your first class. Intermediate Hoop Dance: 6wk series (bring your own hoop)- Ready for the next level in hoop dance? Learn plenty of new moves to keep your routine spicy and rock out your performances. Want to bring more DANCE to your hooping? This class is for you. Focus: isolations, chest & shoulder hooping, leg hooping, isopops & more snazzy off body moves with variations for all skill levels. Keeping your cardio up with jumps and step throughs with many variations for transitions. Bring your fav hoop & come rock this class! Beginners Hoop Dance 6wk series is suggested as a pre-requisite to gain the most benefit from this class series but not required.Only 10 spaces available for this class, pre-registration is recommended to secure your space. Spicy Burlesque Styling with Lola Le Soleil (6-week workshop) - Shimmy to a different beat, and spend six weeks in the tropics with Lola Le Soleil! You'll be blending tropical rhythms including salsa, cha-cha, and mambo with classic burlesque movement for a different way to bring the latin heat to burlesque movement! This is a beginner class with the added bonus of fun footwork! Wear comfortable low heels or flexible dance shoes.

BURLESQUE FITNESS CLASSES

 

Burlesque-A-Go-Go with Sadie Hawkins! - This is a fun go-go dance workout that teaches basic go-go moves and gets you fit in a fun, upbeat atmosphere! Students should wear comfortable clothing, and flexible-soled shoes or bare feet, or of course, GoGo boots!
